Serving the Payne Branch Basin

MetroConnects is hard at work on capital improvement projects in the Payne Branch Basin area. Crews began construction in September 2022. By the project’s end, Metro will have installed 18 new concrete manholes and approximately 2,600 linear feet of gravity sewer main. The Metro pipes will connect with a new wastewater pump station and gravity main operated by Renewable Water Resources (ReWa). This sewer extension project will improve services in the Payne Branch basin, including the new Wexford Park development, south of Wilson Bridge Road and east of Putman Lane. The work reflects MetroConnects’ commitment to Clean Water Forward, an initiative to protect the environment and public health while keeping up with local growth through proactive improvement projects.
