It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Metropolitan Sewer Subdistrict Commissioner Jim Gregorie.
A familiar face around our office, Mr. Gregorie served on the Commission for 19 years, having received appointments from Govs. Mark Sanford, Nikki Haley, and Henry McMaster. He was appointed as vice chair in 2009.
Mr. Gregorie was a past president of the Greenville and South Carolina Home Builders Associations and held a residential business license for more than 40 years. As the owner of Gregorie Company, he built and developed projects in Greenville and Anderson counties before retiring in 2006. In addition to his service to Metro, he also served as a member of the South Carolina Home Builders Self Insurers Fund’s Board of Trustees.
Mr. Gregorie was a graduate of Clemson University having received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education in 1968.
A celebration of life will be held 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at The Poinsett Club.
